Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House

Frank Lloyd Wright designed a unique residential complex for wealthy Buffalo businessman Darwin D. Martin and his family between 1903-1905. The most substantial and highly developed of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie houses in the Eastern United States, The Darwin D. Martin House received National Historic Landmark status in 1986.

Part of the landscape master plan with Bayer Landscape Architects, CG created a comprehensive signage plan for the complex which included identification and wayfinding signs along with a map of the site.

Three interpretive panels were also designed to help tell the story of Darwin Martin and his relationship with Frank Lloyd Wright. CG took care to ensure that the sign system reflected the architecture and landscape influence from Wright’s recognizable style.
