Forgotten Souls
Refugees are the forgotten souls of this world. The country from which they came has forgotten them, the country in which they now reside would like to forget them, and the rest of the world barely recognizes their existence. They are citizens of nowhere, yet survivors of much.
The “Forgotten Souls” exhibit provides an artistic representation of the path one walks in becoming a refugee. With the help of video, photography, audio and other interactive elements, guests will walk through the exhibit to experience step-by-step what a refugee is faced with on their treacherous pilgrimage.
To help raise funding for the exhibit, I was asked to design a booklet that could be handed out to potential partners, funders, and donors. The booklet uses images and data from Jacquelyn Woods’ experience living and working at the Meheba Refugee Settlement in Zambia.
